We’re excited to debut Srija’s September 2025 collection for FOI Magazine—an intimate, cinematic study in natural light, texture, and quiet confidence. Shot in a heritage suite in Kolkata, this set pairs soft daylight with warm practicals to create a calm, painterly mood.
Lighting design:
Key: diffused window light through sheer curtains—silky, directional, and flattering.
Practical/rim: a tungsten table lamp adds a buttery edge glow and gentle color contrast against the cool window tones.
Result: soft highlight roll-off with airy shadows; depth without harsh contrast.
Palette & grade:
Ivory linens, beige drapery, and honey lamp tones build a neutral, classic palette.
Skin-tone–first grading with restrained saturation; a filmic softness that favors mid-tones.
Styling language:
Monochrome, textured bodysuit with white satin bows and lace accents—French-inspired minimalism.
Long, loose hair and minimal jewelry keep emphasis on line and posture rather than ornament.
Composition & body lines:
Three-quarter profile on the bed edge forms a subtle S-curve.
Negative space toward the window breathes; vertical drape patterns echo and frame the silhouette.
Low seating angle + lens compression (fast prime range) create intimacy and separation.
Set & texture:
Woven lamp, carved side table, and patterned curtains add tactile layers that complement the garment’s mesh texture.
Creative intent: serenity over spectacle—an editorial that feels private, graceful, and timeless.
