Dan left her when he found out she was pregnant, didn’t even come for the birth of his son, came back to town with his wife a couple months after who was also pregnant and then and only then asked for custody. Who‘s to say that he wouldn’t change his mind again or worse use it to regain full custody and raise Lucas apart from Karen? Nah, I wouldn’t have trusted him with shit either.
