But Lewis' romantic hopes hit a detour when he stops on the way to rescue his older brother, Fuller (Steve Zahn), who goads him into playing a practical joke on a lonely trucker, over a CB radio. Now, that trucker, an unseen and terrifying force known only by his CB handle, Rusty Nail, wants the last laugh and revenge.

I've always loved this one, such a great suspenseful movie. What they did was wrong but they sure didn't deserve all that, poor Venna got roped into it but I always felt even more bad for Charlotte, she was completely innocent, probably had no idea why he took her. I like that you think everything is good now once they apologize and pick up Venna but no, it barely had even begun with him. You are indeed correct, Rust Nails voice was Ted Levine, aka Buffalo Bill. For some reason he's not credited but it is him and he's great, such a creepy voice. I use to repeat the "Candy Lane" line all the time, lol. Although it's definitely not him for that tiny moment you do see him, I have no idea who that was. I like that we barely ever saw him it kept him more creepy that way.

2023-05-10 07:28:33 +0000 UTCI'm glad you liked the movie. I think Rusty Nail killed the guy that worked for the ice company the guy that brought Lewis back his wallet . Then put the body in the truck and did something to make the truck go thru the Motel. Still one of my favorite thrillers. π
