The majority of this episode was filmed in Mexico (I believe) in the same exact tank they used to film titanic back in 97/98, which was an eight-acre tank containing 17 million gallons of water. (I think they used the same amount for this). They built all the top halves of the buildings and the Ferris Wheel for it too. And for the shot of Buck hopping over the booth when the tsunami hit, they actually shot a ton of water at Oliver Stark. I believe he does a majority of what stunts he can in the show. The second fact I know about this one is that while buck is initially looking for Chris after the wave, they had a person in scuba gear under the water holding onto Gavin so that he wouldn’t float away from the pole.
