The guy who plays the ghost has guest spots in so many shows, he's such a recognisable face. Buffy is the other appearance that sticks out to me, he's in a few episodes of that.

He's in a Buffy episode you haven't seen yet, he was in a New Girl episode (which you should watch), a Crazy Ex-Girlfriend episode, but maybe his role on Shameless is where you know him from- he was in the commune episodes whichever season that was.
