I feel that Mer and Derek clearly couldn't be friends but I can't blame them for wanting to be close to each other. Many do not understand that Derek is a very rational person, who always tries to do the right thing even if this does not coincide with his feelings. They blame him a lot for trying to make things work with Addie, a person who cheated on him and with whom he forged an eleven-year-old bond. It's not an easy decision, there are even people who live their whole lives with someone they don't love out of habit. Merder has my heart and I think the chemistry that Ellen and Patrick have is unmatched.

She is one of my very favorite characters on the show. Right up there with a Derek and Mark, gotta love the eye candy!

He tried to confess his feelings to her earlier and she completely ignored him, that should have been an another indication to not sleep with her yet he did it anyway. They were both in the wrong but George saw something wrong with Meredith and decided to think with his peewee instead.

Most of it is awesome (let's face it, Addison with poison oak was hilarious, poor woman), but seeing the trainwreck that was Meredith and George is SO painful. And does she learn anything from it? NO. She goes to meet up with McDreamy on the trail, like the idiot she is. He's married. It's too complicated. You cannot be friends. I love Meredith but sometimes I want to smack her upside the head.
