Finally getting around to checking out this show and I think I'm in! Latin American culture and mental health are two topics I'm pretty much always game for, so both in the same show seems like a no brainer for me!

No, rum cake does not count.

I love watching shows for the first time with reactors as well bc I just have no one to watch stuff with and it's like watching with a friend

Staton Chapman

You must have a very lively family ;)

Ilsuk Yang

That's too bad. If you can get past that part, I think you would love this show, but if you can't, then don't push it

my family is half greek, half spanish and i absolutely love this show. the grandma reminds me so much of my abuelita who is still alive but sadly only a shell of herself.

I tried the first episode but turned it off after the first few minutes because of people being hit by a car. Straight away that was me out. I'm annoyingly sensitive. 🙈

Siobhan Linehan

If you haven't seen Julie and the Phantoms, I think you would really enjoy it, Siobhan

I'd never heard of this show before so I Googled it and saw that it's a sitcom so I gave it a go. But I'm not sure it's for me tbh. I'm used to the OTT laugh tracks from other American sitcoms I watch so that's ok. But these people are like half Spanish and half American and I don't understand most of what they're talking about so I'm not getting the jokes. Maybe if you do decide to do the full series I'll give it another go, I could try to figure it all out as it goes along lol. 🙈

Love this show! It's an update of an original show from the 1970s and I love what they did with it and how the cast it. Rita Moreno is a treasure and she's so funny. They show the original Porto's bakery in the opening credits and reference it and I'm glad it got a shout out. It is an authentic Cuban bakery that started out with just a small location and it has grown into this massive chain now. It is amazing and you should definitely try it if you get a chance. Looking forward to you continuing this one. Thanks for a great reaction!

This seems like a cute little show with a lot of silliness (gotta love the silliness, lol). This isn't something I would watch on my own, which is just one of the reason why I like watching your reactions, Travis as it opens up new shows/movies/music for me to experience (I also like that we do the same thing for you, lol). Anyways, if you decide to continue this show, I will continue on with you :)

I haven't seen it in a while but I loved this show!!!

I love this show so much! It balances the serious and funny scenes really well and it deals with some really serious issues (as seen even in the first episode with depression). I'm looking forward to your next reaction and I really hope you will do the whole season, because it gets better with every episode and the finale has one of the most emotional scenes I've ever seen. Also, fun fact - the actress that plays Penelope (the mum, Justina Machado) starred in Grey's Anatomy (she was a new mom who was depressed that she's not a good mom and Bailey talked her through it, I think it was the episode when they talked about how Bailey is responsible for Denny's death and there was this one doctor that had a problem with Bailey being a mother and a doctor). Also, the actress that plays the grandmother (Rita Moreno) is a famous actress, she starred in West Side Story musical and won an Oscar and a Golden Globe.
