Finally changed from All TV Shows to All 3 just to watch Les Mis. It's my favorite Musical. I love the music so so much!!!

2023-04-11 19:39:57 +0000 UTCI was so beyond excited when this popped up on my feed. The movie is an incredible adaptation to the Broadway show (which I've seen over a dozen times!). Also, please be totally obsessed and in love with Aaron Tveit, cause he's a f*cking God and didn't get the recognition he deserved in this film. All of the singing was live, so they could really portray the emotions. They were nominated for 12 Tony Awards (won 8), nominated for 8 Oscar's (won 3, with Hathaway winning best supporting actress).

Having heard the 'cream of the crop' 10th anniversary cast, this leaves me wanting. And yes, they decided to film their live singing throughout, to add to the immediacy of the performances. A side note: Colm Wilkinson, who played the priest, originated the role of Jean Valjean in both London and New York.

I've always hated when movies and shows cast someone just because they're popular at the time and not because they're right for the role. It happens constantly and rarely works out. π€¦ And that's true. Borat and Bellatrix are great. π€£
