Community Update - Penny's Pic Pack Picks

Greetings everyone!

There's been a lot of development going on behind the scenes lately and a big part of that has revolved around proper image pack implementation. Unfortunately, the the 6.1.2 update will take a little bit of time to complete, so to help pass that time we thought it would be fun to host a community event that will help shape The Company!

So let's get right to it.

What Are Image Packs?

So what exactly are image packs and how will they be used within The Company?  Well, let's break down the basics:

• Image Packs will initially only be supported in local (downloaded) versions of The Company. Hosted (online) support will come later
• Image Packs use new external .js files to build out a list of images used by The Company. These are easy to edit and are confirmed to work on Android and PC
• The existing "Base" image pack will continue to be supplied as a single download for new players
• Image Packs can be created on a per-character basis, meaning it will be possible to completely swap out the images for a single character while leaving everything else intact
• This also means mixing and matching image packs will be possible
• Image Packs will allow for multiple image files to be assigned to a single image, and will be displayed at random when called in game
• Need ideas?
  • No GIF Image Pack - Replaces all GIF images with static jpg/png files for a lightweight image pack
  • Deluxe Image Pack - Add multiple GIF images to every image call to add variety and create a massively large image pack
  • Replace Tasha with Aubrey - Replace Tasha Reign with Aubrey Kate and rejoice
  • Waifu Pack - Don't lewd the raccoon girl!

That's basically the gist of it. In addition to allowing for image replacements, this same methodology will be applied to future (basic) mod support as well.

Community Event - Penny Image Pack

I did say that there was an event, right?

To kick things off with the new image packs, we wanted to get the community involved by re-evaluating Penny's images in game, and from that piecing together an updated image pack for her. Once complete, this new image pack will be compiled and made available for download as the first stand alone character image pack for The Company. Here's how it will work.

• Download Penny's initial image pack from HERE for reference
• Make your submissions HERE
  • You may make as many or as few submissions as you like for any number of images. The actress used must be Penny Pax.
• After collecting images over the next week, we'll be hosting daily votes on Discord starting next Tuesday for each image
• Once voting is completed, the Base image pack will be updated, and the new Penny Image Pack will be made available for download!

That's basically all there is to it. Depending on how well this event goes, you can expect similar as we move forward with other characters. With that being said I encourage everyone to participate either by making their own submissions, voting on Discord, or both!

Later this week I'll be releasing the Public Build for Update 6.1.1, which will include a few bugfixes for issues reported from the Backer Build. Starting next Thursday, I'll be sharing more info concerning Update 6.1.2 in the return of the weekly development blog. That wraps up today, I hope to see lots of participation in this new event!
