Gift of Hedone: New Water Race Help!

I need your help, Im really unsure about how I feel about the Axolotl race as the water race, I like the idea of a monster girl inspired by it, but not as the main water race. I dont have a logical reason, im just not vibing with it as much as the other races.

I would love some recommendations from you for some other water based creatures that you think would make a cool water monster girl race in the comments below, or in my DMs if you feel more comfortable with that.

Less time/work could just be a base water design, and more time/work/updates could customize them based off their body of water (rivers, streams, lakes, oceans, coves, etc.). If you're looking for something more 'monstrous', yet something that will set I you apart from merfolk, try thinking about different kinds of sea life. I personally love sea mammals, so an otter/seal/whale/orca could be an interesting route, though I also really like the 'jiggly jellyfish' comment.

2025-05-22 09:32:02 +0000 UTCI think the axolotl one is very creative personally, but some other animals you can try to base the race on are otters, beavers, harp seals, penguins, red-eyed tree frogs, dolphins, sharks, crocodiles or orcas!
