Another poll!
Added 2015-11-21 20:27:21 +0000 UTCGot another poll for everyone to vote on!
This time, it's about Talia's new charge attacks!
Yes, that's with a plural, because we're going to take her current charge attack, and effectively split/alter its power between two different charge attacks!
Right now, it's simply too powerful, doing 6x the damage of a regular shot AND cleaving through all the enemies in its path. So we've reworked it into these two charge attacks;
"Medium" Charge Attack;
- Cleaves through all enemies in its path
- Does 30 HP damage to all enemies (half of what the original charge shot did)
"Overloaded" Charge Attack;
- Only hits the first enemy it touches, and stops there
- Does 100 HP damage
Here's the poll; let us know which of these three options you'd like when it comes to being able to use the different charge shots!

Huh. This split was what I suggested before wasn't it? Did my incessant whining actually accomplish something productive? Oh no, what if it goes to my head?

2015-11-23 03:47:57 +0000 UTCIt would only take about as long as a full charge in Megaman X, but gameplay adjustments will keep things fair, as we constantly adjust HP levels/damage levels/enemy behaviors, etc. :)

2015-11-23 01:42:52 +0000 UTCI like that overloaded can take care of most enemies in one hit, but I really really hope it doesn't take THAT long to charge, as some enemies (so far the flying one) need a big hit to take care of efficiently, and if I have to charge for a while in order to get the damage to kill, I'm gonna be pretty dead.

2015-11-22 03:23:50 +0000 UTCThis is a good point for pressing the button to switch them, for sure.

2015-11-22 03:23:40 +0000 UTCWe likely won't do anything like this, just because there's only 2 flying enemies in the entire game, and animating and programming a specific attack just for two enemies would be, well, yeah :P

2015-11-22 03:22:56 +0000 UTCMaking the charge attack sequential while also having it's properties change seems like a horrible idea. It seems like it would be way to easy to charge up a "medium" charge attack, go to line up your shot, then accidentally charge up into "overloaded" and only hit and kill one enemy when you wanted to take out a whole line of them.

2015-11-21 23:21:31 +0000 UTCMaybe it's because I've cut my teeth playing Mega Man Zero, but I'm cool with the different charge attacks being sequential. Having to press another button to alter it feels like it could lead to too many mistakes in high-stakes moments (accidentally walking off a ledge when you just wanted a different attack). Also, having to press Up + Attack seems like it ought to be saved for some other move we could gain over the course of the game. Pressing a button to toggle between the two different charge attacks is also a good idea, and I'm used to the concept, having played Alien Soldier. The thing is, unless you're going to do like AS and have the button press outright change some other major element in Talia's moveset besides her charge attack, it wouldn't be right to have to toggle through them. In Alien Soldier, you could toggle between Free Shooting (being able to move while shooting, at the expense of some ease in attacking diagonally and some attack power) or Fixed Shooting, which rooted you to the spot when you fired your attacks (which had stronger attacks and an easier time aiming diagonally). Maybe if such a change were implemented with Talia, i.e. toggling between two "movesets, the idea of toggling through charge attacks would go down easier. Take me with a pinch of salt, I've never made a side-scroller before. :P
