Taking Some Time Off!

After much solemn reflection, I have reached a momentous decision... I am taking the rest of the year off. A chance to step back, let ideas ferment, and return with something sharper and more deliberate.

With that said, I’ve also been thinking about how momentum works. Stories don’t like being abandoned mid-stride, and habits, once broken, are irritatingly difficult to rebuild. So instead of vanishing entirely, I’ll be taking a short break. A proper one. About a week. Seven whole days of peace, silence, and absolutely no productivity.

Of course, as I look over the actual list of things in front of me... yeah, calling this a full week might be a touch indulgent. Most of what needs doing is already outlined, flagged, or half-finished, so I’ll be stepping away for six days instead. Enough time to clear the mental clutter, you know?

Revisiting the calendar again, five days seems more honest? There are a couple of administrative loose ends and one stubborn chapter that refuses to behave, and once those are dealt with, the rest can probably wait without consequence. That fits comfortably into four days, especially if I promise myself not to open anything new. Especially nothing ferret-related.

At this point, what’s left is mostly the sort of maintenance work that only looks big if I squint at it too hard. A few notes to reconcile, a pass over something I already know is wrong (Oh god, Hope//Punk). That kind of thing doesn’t need much distance at all, honestly. Three days should be plenty to let it settle without losing the thread entirely.

Looking at it plainly, two days covers the essentials. Enough time to straighten out the bits that would otherwise itch at the back of my brain, answer a couple of messages I’ve been ignoring (not on purpose) and convince myself that I am, in fact, being sensible about all of this and not just circling the work.

And if I’m being completely honest with myself, this is really just about tomorrow. One day to finish tying off the loose ends, you know?

Possibly just the afternoon.

Anyway,

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to take time off! I appreciate it!

Next chapter should be posted in the next few minutes!
