I am willing to accept that a book cover is mostly an advertisement vehicle, so if a "sexy-fied" Cat that wears skintight clothes with plenty exposed flesh in an alluring pose (those raised legs really sell her thighs, but nobody sits like this on a rooftop) helps sell more books so the Birb can pay its bills, that's some artistic freedom I can live with. It's certainly not consistent with how Cat would dress when going outside, in that I agree with you. But turning the wrong arm into a prosthetic as well as the weird look of the right arm should be addressed.

2025-03-03 16:28:22 +0000 UTCAgreed, the vibe and style is really good, but Cat herself is super flawed. I'm also quite certain she would not run around town With an exposed midriff. She usually go in her "bounty hunter" outfit, or power armor. Would've been way better to show off the relatively new bounty hunter suit.

2025-03-03 13:07:56 +0000 UTCHer upper right arm is also a fair bit narrower than the lower arm, which adds to it just looking weird together with the bent elbow. I like the general art style, colours and scene, but the execution needs some rework as far as the arms are concerned.

As you said, it's not a big deal, BUT it does mess with the continuity and makes it hard to picture her correctly. Also, her right arm seems to be broken , as the joint is not supposed to go that way.....

2025-03-03 06:24:46 +0000 UTCNot only do different artists have different styles, but Cat has evolved several times since the first book. But the arm doesn't shift; that was a screwup. Not a biggie as long as it's fixed before publishing.
