Kiritsugu is an awesome character and i assure you before the final episode you will like him. edit: kiritsugu emiya is shirous dad, tohsaka tokiomi is the guy in the red suit and the biological father fo Rin and Sakura. Kiritsugu is an assassin who got married into the Einzbern family and father to Ilya and he adopted shirou later on. Matou Zouken is an old mage of the Matou also has the last name of "makiri" few hundreds year ago. Kariya matou is a son to Zouken who quit magecraft (cheaper or weaker form of magic) and now returned to protect Sakura. Kotominne kirie is church agent who is also a priest and an excellent mage which is contradictory to his belief (as a christian, magic is heresy) let me tell you now that he is weird, he finds satisfaction in suffering and he suffers from happiness. in Fate/Zero he is trying to find a purpose in life. i think that is enough information for now
