The timeline for this particular one shot could be the original part 1 Naruto or Naruto shippuuden. I won't mention the age of any anyone in the story as I prefer to have my readers use their imagination and decide on that themselves. They can be the same age as they would in the manga at the same timeline or the academy age is raised to 18+.
