Welcome to the blue balling that all Mazinger Fans have been experiencing for the last 15 years. Mazinger Z both the 70's anime and the OG Manga were both followed up right away by Great Mazinger with Tetsuya taking the role of the MC while Koji got some R&R but Shin Great Mazinger has cancelled because despite the legacy Shin Mazinger didn't have great viewership or great ratings at the time leaving the true final fight never animated. Technically both Super Robot Wars X and the Mazinger Zero manga duology serve as sequels but both have a different creative team behind both and SRW X also has other shows as part of Mazinger's story. Personally this is my second favorite Mecha anime and my second favorite Mazinger anime between style, animation, and tone. This voice cast also is to me the ones I will always associate with these characters to the point of any rewatch of Mazinkaiser or the little I've watch currently of the 70's Mazinger throw me for a loop often.
