The reasons why those 3 specific rangers gave him their powers because they’re all sixth rangers with Dino zords who all died in their season, Dragon Ranger, Aba Killer and Time Fire.

Not because of his acting here, but because of his recent actions of dressing up as a cop IRL and scamming people. It's a real shame, because there's a lot to like about Gai! For a team who doesn't really care much about getting to really *know* about the Past Teams, it's perfect to have a Super Sentai Fanboy as the Sixth Ranger.
