This 40 years old case with the 2 men and their marijuana is one of the few cases in Detective Conan that has yet to be solved. To this day, we still don't know who they were, neither what they wanted. There are a few cases like that where the mistery has yet to be solved or take a very long time to solve.

Ran's original design in the manga is extremely similar to say the least. And similarities don't even end there : Aoko is voiced in this episode by Minami Takayama... yes she has Conan's voice. Akako is voiced by Megumi Hayashibara... the same person who voices Haibara.
