New Worldbuilding: Transformation Magic and Shifters
Added 2024-09-19 10:21:21 +0000 UTCHello dear patrons! Here's some new worldbuilding for you:

Been working on this one for a long time. Still not entirely happy with it, but I'm getting kind of sick of reworking it, and it's at least serviceable, I think. As some of you know, I really struggled with transformation magic aspect of the MoL setting - it's more of a rule-of-cool power and it's hard to break down and justify. Most magic settings that delve deeper into things like mine tend to exclude it outright as impossible or make it really underwhelming, and I can understand why... but I find I like having it in the setting anyway, despite all of its problems.
In any case, it's a lengthy article, so for those of you who like worldbuilding: enjoy. I'll try to finish more of them in the future.
But way shorter ones this time.

Any new details about the world of Ersetu are really appreciated! I really enjoyed the article and this detailed view into transformation magic.

I am really interested in both the world in isolation, and any continuation to MoL that you may in the far future be contemplating, so please know that your efforts, even if not huge in volume, are appreciated.

I do have plenty of notes and ideas, but putting them into something presentable takes more time than I would have thought.
