The DrToxic Art Newsletter - 5/12/25!

Welcome to my first ever newsletter post. Here, you'll get an up-to-date report on my art processes, what I'm working on, and other things going on in my life.

As I've said before, Amelia's inner Mermaid is off hiatus. Some fans are getting impatient, not naming names, and it kind of gets to me sometimes. Personally I wrestle with a great deal of guilt in my life over my work and how I get stuff done, because one of my flaws is that I'm a shameless perfectionist. I give no one a break, least of all myself. I'm not patient either, and that caused me a lot of grief with the people who've been in my life for so many years. I try to give myself a break - and others - but that's easier said than done.

The only other thing really affecting my workflow is my dad's post-stroke recovery. He's been at a rehab clinic for about a couple months now, and the medical staff are amazed at how well he's recovering, considering that the stroke he had nearly killed him. Yes, take from that what you will. Once I get my vanilla works posted and get a steady revenue in hopefully, I'm afraid my sister, an insufferable busybody, will start asking me for handouts. Dad will get disability benefits, so her asking for it is more of a shitty feel-good gesture. I DO NOT TOLERATE HAVING ANYTHING OF THE SORT BEATEN OUT OF ME. FUCK YOU!!!!!!!!!

God damn... now you know what I have to put up with.

But enough about that. Time to tell you about what I've been cooking up while working on AIM...

I have a bunch of manga which I've been making art and character sheets for, posted here for you to see. I want to work on these series concurrently, alternating between a few each day so I can maximize output of work. I don't want to spend 20 years slaving away at one work while all these ideas crowd my mind. Fuck that.
