Progress Update

Hello Everyone!

It's time for another progress update!

The writing for the next update is complete as the soundtrack. It will first go through proofreading, and then I test the game to ensure it's bug-free.

As I mentioned, I decided to split the next update into two parts because it was too large. I had the $15+ tier members vote, and the result is that Kameko's route will be updated first.

However, since both routes share a lot of content in this specific update (roughly half of the events), Anzu's route should follow quickly a month later.

A little over 60% of the visuals are completed. I think it would be possible to release the update in August, but my main artists will be taking a break this summer, so early September is more likely. As usual, I will send you a release schedule when the update is close to being completed.

Keep in mind that V0.3 will be released on the same date as V0.4 for people subbing at the Student tiers.

Right now, I'm thinking a lot about the visual aspect of the in-game scenes and their dynamism. I had considered animating some scenes, but that's currently financially impossible. I need to let this Patreon grow a bit more before I can try adding animations. For now, I'm trying to add more variations of the same image to avoid ending up with visuals that are too sparse.

I'm already doing this for single illustrations, but it's usually very minors change (face expression), so I'm thinking about making bigger variations and also doing some in comic shaped illustrations.

I'm adding some sneak peeks at this message, stay tuned, and thanks for your support!

I don't have much to lose by trying to animate the illustrations. In any case, it's not about animating all of them (not the comics-shaped illustrations, that's a given) or slowing down the development process to add animations. Besides, I'm still far from reaching the stage where I can afford to do it, so we'll see.

Not sure if you were looking for an opinion but I think you should stick to the static images even if you are able to grow the budget. They are really well drawn and the facial expressions get the point across really good. Feature Creep kills a lot of promising projects on this site. I say this in the most respectful way and of course it's your project, do what you feel is right.
