Hello everyone!

Dealing with Noise in My Renders

I want to share a bit about the challenges I’m facing with my animations, especially with the high-quality models I’ve been using, like the ones from Murder Drones. You might notice some noise in the upcoming Uzi animation, and I want to explain why that happens and what I’m doing about it.

The Noise Problem

When working with detailed models, I often get some grain or noise in the renders. It’s something I’ve always dealt with, but it shows up more with complex scenes like the ones I’m creating now. To fix this, I can increase the render settings, like adding more samples, but that makes the rendering time much longer. For the Uzi animation, I haven’t tweaked the settings yet, so it’s a bit noisy. I’m using a low number of samples for a 4K animation, and even then, a simple animation takes about 7 hours to render. The VR version takes almost twice as long. I’m sorry about that, but I’m working on finding a balance.

Hardware Limitations

Right now, all the support from Patreon goes toward my university education, which means I can’t afford a big PC upgrade yet. A better computer would help reduce render times and improve quality, but it’s not something I can do right now. I’m thinking about maybe upgrading my graphics card in the future to help with this, but for now, I’m making the best of what I have.

Plans for the Next Animation

For the next project, I’m going to test higher sample counts to see if I can reduce the noise without making the render times too crazy. If it works, I’ll try to keep those settings. If the renders take too long, I might need to adjust things again to keep the schedule manageable.

Thanks for sticking with me and supporting my work.

Comments

take your time with the renders focus on your uni studies its more important and ik how hard it is with makeing animations or in general makeing render bc im doing those stuff aswell and know how hard it can be expescialy when the hardware getting on limits in rendering

Serial Designation V

Hope all goes well in your Uni studies and take your time with the animations. I prefer quality over quantity.
