Lots of experimentation this week! I have decided to push for a more "multimedia" approach (by mixing brushes) in my work to help push textures and make things more visually interesting. I'm also playing around with more traditional techniques (like hatching and crosshatching) in a digital format
I also recently realized 2 important things:
(a)I have been overworking my pieces, which detracts from the stylized feel, so I'm trying to loosen back up (I'm aiming for something more like that Yoshi w/ bridle piece (Dis thing: https://twitter.com/Statiik_Art/status/1454481526285119491?s=20&t=haQq6MAb6EsTbB9440rsEg)
(b) Adding props and BGs to things realllyyyy helps create more of an interesting story around images. I am really slapping my forehead about missing this one, friends.
Oh, and I just discovered a platform to find really great reference materials and figure drawing sessions, and I am really excited about that, so there will be regular figure drawing sketches for at least the next month :)
Maybe I will come up with some cool techniques, eh?
