Supernatural always had a cheesy element to it yet when the storytellers decide to go big with universe ending stakes it oftentimes succeeds. The Winchester Brothers fighting God's sister is on its surface a ridiculous, bat shit crazy idea but somehow it works.
Also, I really like we got to see an actual smiting from heaven. We haven't really seen that crazy action portrayed in visual media outside of anime. This episode's representation of what it looks like kinda lines up with the horrific mental imagery from the source material when the power of Heaven smited an individual.

Oiiii every scene between Sam and Lucifer is unbelievably tense. I wish we'd get it more often because holy frick, their chemistry -- in the darkest possible way, of course. Always makes you wanna hold your breath. So much predator/prey feeling to it.

This episode is so good! You have Sam reliving traumas and Dean being mind whammed by Amara. Not a great showing for our heroes, but it feels very in character

I always feel so sad for Sam, I can really feel all the PTSD coming through him from his memories of being abused and tortured by lucifer in the cage. Jared really does a good job with that emotion!
