That's interesting that Jared said that about his portrayal of Lucifer versus Misha and Mark. I figured it was just because Jared isn't as good an actor as Misha. Jared played Lucifer and Gadreel the same way; they were both stage-play dramatic robots (read: overacting. Come to think of it, he plays Lucifer and Gadreel the same way he plays himself sucking at acting in The French Mistake 🤔). Casifer doesn't act like Cas at all (i.e. isn't acting as though Cas the vessel were altering the perception/deliverance of Lucifer), except for the times Lucifer is pretending to BE Cas, and even then Misha plays it with just the right touch of Mark-making-fun-of-Cas while also BEING Cas-enough to be believable for both Dean and us. Misha really put in the effort to study the way the original actor (Mark) portrayed the character and then mimic that SO WELL. But... I mean... the other thing makes sense too, I guess.

2024-03-16 17:54:23 +0000 UTCJimmy is in heaven. Lucifer is possessing Cas body and my God trust me Misha Kills the performance as Lucifer!!! This ending i was unsure of his portrayal as Lucifer but he does so well!!!

2023-02-06 23:31:10 +0000 UTCWell, I think you have to understand the motivations that drive Cas to make his decisions which are paramount to his loyalty to the Winchesters who he considers his family. Cas was trying to save Sam because Lucifer was threatening Dean's life which may have prompted Sam to say yes, which will also be devastating to Dean if that happened. The earlier conversation with the Asian angel prompted Castiel to feel that he is indeed, expendable, stemming from his own self-loathing as well as wanting to escape his trauma. He feels he bears some of the responsibility because it was he and Sam who tried to save Dean from the Mark and that brought Amara, who has her sights set on Dean. Time and time again, the main characters are always trying to save each other even if that means making dangerous choices. Also, Jimmy's body was completely obliterated in season 5, Cas was actually rebuilt.

Also Jared has explained the differences in acting of lucifer is that Sam is the perfect vessel so anyone else who is possessed by lucifer is altered and makes them as a skewed version of the creepiness of the likeness of the Mark Pellegrino version. I will admit I was frustrated at Cass for saying yes after Sam's long battle and finally saying no to the devil. I felt that was a real internal battle and I was so proud of him saying he's not going to be his bitch with his whole chest and then Cass goes and ruins it by saying yes. But this is definitely good tv and I love it!
