Greg perfectly distilling the very question I have asked myself while watching this entire era of the show.
Then tuning in the next week, or after a while for the special, in the fain hope that the next episode would succeed in not clumsily tripping over itself at every step to produce something that isn't tepid and unengaging for most of it's run time.
You both made some great points, stuff I've contemplated a number of times. It's not that each series hasn't had it's low points. It's the frequency and the sheer number of cumulative structural shortfalls that are so impressively frustrating that makes you run through that list in your head as you are watching. This is exactly the reason I stayed on board for this part of the show. Mediocre things are the hardest things to enjoy. You can love something that is so bad it's good. Love and Monsters. Obvs you can adore that thing that is so transparently brilliant. Vincent and The Doctor. It's like pushing through a slightly below average meal, hoping to be rewarded with the pleasure that dessert can bring. Series 3. 🤣

I’m genuinely interested in what episodes have made Greg not to watch the show anymore

It was Neil’s protégés company that did the effects for season 13 and they also worked on the Star Wars sequel trilogy so it’s possible Neil just wanted to help her get her company up and running with some good credits to the name and took a step back for the season

I sometimes believe that Chibnall wanted to purge every aspect of the show that had connections with past showrunners. Maybe to avoid them getting info, maybe just to try to make himself "unfirable". But that's just my conspiracy theory.

If you’re interested in this side of things John I can put facts in about it with regards to the new company for season 13 when that comes around?

I always found the episode kinda Bleh... As a Brazilian, i find it kinda strange that there's a Brazilian girl and a Portuguese girl, and it tries to make it look as they both are Brazilians, but... That's life, i suppose!

From the Article - At the time of writing (2020), it is unsure as to why the team are leaving but MFX Director, Neill Gorton confirmed the news on his Instagram page:
"So sixteen years ago the first episode of Doctor Who I worked on was the Autons - an alien intelligence that inhabits plastic and brings it to life to kill people. This is my last episode and its one about a space virus that infects people through plastic and kills them. Anyway, moving on."
Good news though they are coming back with Russel T Davies 2 (RTD2) amongst others they did the work on weeping angels, the Ood, Judoon, clockwork robots, and Davros’ updated design etc so it’s great to have them back working on the show.
