Twister (1996) Movie Watch Along!!

It's been on my list for a while, & after learning Roxy has been left out of conversations on set for the movie she's in with two of the actors in Twister, I knew we had to cover it - and it is a 90's Hollywood Blockbuster at its finest haha

Twister (1996) Movie Watch Along!!

As someone who lives in tornado alley I can say that yes, this many tornados in a day or two is not that abnormal so that part is believable. And no, our houses are not any less expensive and the cost of insurance for said house is quite a bit higher.

1997 & 1999 were great years for movies but 1998 (my birth year) had The Big Lebowski and Saving Private Ryan :) So I’m a bit biased towards that year

Fun reaction, forgot how great this movie was, and all the fun lines that came out if it that people quoted. Also love the discussion about what your name means, made e laugh how you were so confused about it Roxy, and how Greg was so shocked you were not understanding what he meant, lol. Oh and my name means Joyful (Julie),

Jules R

Entertaining reaction for an exhilarating old favorite.

I had completely forgot that Philip Seymour Hoffman was in this. He was such an amazing actor that he gets completely lost in this role.

This movie has such an amazing cast. And yes Jamie Gertz character is hard to really like at first, but I kinda felt bad for her. But then i look at her networth and i don't feel to bad for her anymore for the hate this character gets.. Helen was 32 when she filmed this movie. and yes it was close to 100 million to make which is about 190 million today. But this was such a big Hollywood movie for the times. Again great cast, great soundtrack, even has Van Halen, Clapton, GooGoo Dolls, Soul Asylum, Tori Amos.. all big in the 90's. And of course there is a ton of things "wrong" with this film when it comes down to it, like an F5 has a wind speed of over 200MPH, pretty sure they'd be mangled and I highly doubt the leather strap would hold anyway and if their bodies were able to stay in tact and the leather strap as well, pretty sure all the shrapnel and debris would have killed them anyway. but, I still love this film.

Have to come back and watch the whole reaction later, but I skipped ahead to your thoughts. Glad you liked it. I love this movie, so I'm super excited to watch. Interesting seeing you guys getting your lines crossed as far as the meanings behind names thing. Some people don't really consider the meanings behind names. Their name is just a name. But every name has a meaning from *somewhere*. For those people whom it doesn't hold any significance, a question like, "What does your name mean?" is going to leave them scratching their heads. This is one of those frustrating situations where I was wishing I was there so I could say, Roxi, it...it's a thing, Just google it. Put in "What does my name mean?" LOL

Jan De Bont also directed Speed.

first movie Iv ever seen in my life. And went to the twister experience at universal Orlando all the time as a kid. Don’t know which is better honestly lol both are awesome!

This movie was always special to me because I grew up and still live in Oklahoma. I’m not someone that necessarily drives after tornadoes, but me and pretty much everyone else I know will just sit out on the porch to watch one

I'm so excited to watch this!!! This was one of those "natural disaster" movies I grew up with on repeat (as well as "Dante's Peak" and "Volcano")! I was just a 7 year old Canadian completely obsessed with Twisters and Volcanoes so this movie (as well as the others previously mentioned) were on repeat until I accidentally broke the VHS's when the VCR ate them one by one lol πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ my family were probably very happy about that! The nostalgia I am feeling right now is absolutely intense lol ❀️❀️

Yay!!! This one of my fav movies for the era and still classic!!! The one-liners alone… humor….and made me want to be a tornado chaser. Still fascinated by them. Will watch asap! πŸŒͺπŸŒͺπŸŒͺπŸŒͺ
