As someone who lives in Cajun Country and grew up on the bayou, I can say some accents are better than others. Jerry Reed who played the thieving coach is from around here so his accent was his own. Also, I could understand most of the Cajun "gibberish" the assistant coach was saying. I actually work with an older woman who talks like that. "Weh libba fyde anudda day" (we live to fight another day) is something I say to this day when I experience a setback, all because of this movie.
