2023-08-19 15:07:37 +0000 UTCThis is a childhood classic to me! Havenโt seen it in forever but I forgot how silly it is in the best way ๐ And you CANNOT beat that intro music! Little trivia: Cameron Diaz was supposed to play Sonya Blade but got injured, so Bridgette Wilson-Sampras took over.

But hollywood at the time was also bigger than video games back then, so we drank anything they gave us in terms of Live action representation of our fav video games. I think once the gaming industry and fighting overall began to grow Hollywood took us more seriously. The 2nd film of this has even worse reviews. But as a teenager the 2nd movie was the one I always went back to watch over and over, wishing for more. But knowing what we had was not top tier. WE JUST LOVED TO SEE our fav guys we played represented for the first time EVER! in real life. this was a thing in the 1990s that was breaking the mold.
