Thank you for actually pointing out that the moment with Claire going off on her own was not really earned. She would be dead or a werewolf of it wasn’t for Sam, Dean and Mick. It’s a literal example of how she isn’t ready. I guess they are hinging that moment on "it’s her life," so her choice. It’s just a dumb one.
