2022-04-16 03:55:20 +0000 UTCDefinitely understand and agree on Korra not being bad per se, but being no where near as interesting as the supporting characters in these first two seasons. Especially this season where it seems like unless they are specifically focusing on who she is as a character, she comes across a bit wooden and stagnate. Thankfully I think the next two seasons let her progress with more of a consistent arc. If there’s one thing this series will always have over the original for me it is that there are way more impressive fight scenes. Last Airbender has some truly great ones, but tit for tat Korra has more and is more technically impressive. Also yeah, the relationship stuff isn’t great. I do think like the other issues they pay it all off in the end thanks to being rather reflective of their creative choices in the second half of the show. Personally I find Mako the weakest of the main group, mainly because he never really feels like he truly changes as a person. He just sort of always is “aloof cool guy who’s actually less cool and more kind of bland” to the end.

My therapist once told me that sometimes he's seen couples get along better as friends than actually being together romantically. So even if Korra and Asami shouldn't be with Mako because of all the drama, doesn't mean they can't be friends. And I agree Greg, in terms of one on one fights, there hasn't been a better waterbending fight. Unalaqs style is really accurate with hitting critical points like he's shooting a gun, and Tonraq (Korras dad) is really strong and forceful, honestly like an earthbender. The way he bends ice is just like bending earth and knocking people down with it. I love when they mix bending styles it's so interesting. And yeah I know they don't have a lot of Korra time this season besides drama. But we don't know if she's learned until we see it. And Mako is definitely more interested in Korra than Asami. And about all the moving pieces, like the war that was brought up, just remember that this season was forcibly rushed by Nickelodeon studios, and they thought this season was also going to be the last season just like season 1. So.... yeah.

2022-04-15 22:05:05 +0000 UTCYou dont need to insult Asami. She's gorgeous. And yes for the first season, he literally was just a love interest, but here this season he has a little more character. He actually is a good cop, very smart and reads into things. Its not Makos fault for what happened, I couldn't tell me ex I broke up with her with everyone I know watching. Too embarrassing.

2022-04-15 21:32:39 +0000 UTCI appreciate the subtle character arc with Bolin this season. Bolin had a taste of fame when he was a pro-bender in season 1. In season 2, losing the tournament took away his drug of choice. Acting as Nuktuk in film was his replacement. However it wasn’t as fulfilling because it was all fake. This episode he actually had to fight an opponent. I’m glad Bolin got to be a hero in the ring again.

2022-04-15 19:42:50 +0000 UTCyou know, up until now I was really indifferent about Mako, didn't really like him but also didn't dislike him, but man the way Olivia reacts to Mako everytime he is around Korra or Ugly One (aka Asami), makes me appreciate the character more.😂😂 Now I can't wait to see more scenes with them to see how far the cringe and distain can go from Olivia.
