Korra was great this episode. Made a big change and showing that she wants to do good. And it's a bitter pill to swallow that you can't always help everyone and that someone will always be unhappy with her choices but that's the job. Doing what's best for the world, and trying to manage the consequences. And what Korra did is she used the technique her uncle Unalaq taught her, Spiritbending to try and calm the vines. That spirit on the road mentioned that spirits and vines are all the same. Spiritbending is used to calm and purify spirits, but Unalaq also used it to corrupt spirits, like he used it in the finale to kill Korras spirit. Also, it's a fun little side note that Korra is using a glider, such a small thing but it's cool. Yeah the White Lotus was around since season 1. They were who taught Korra bending. White Lotus built the compound and kept Korra all sheltered as a child. As for why only Airbending, well maybe it's something the universe decided. The world had very few Airbenders, so it manifested more of them to balance the world. And Zaheer is already in prison as a former non bender. So just think about that. He must've been very dangerous and skilled in combat to have needed to be locked up in some remote mountain prison without any bending. Super happy you liked the first episode. Only gets better from here! See you guys later!
