Can't believe you've made it to the end already. I absolutely love the final episode and it definitely gets me emotional. Looking forward to your reaction to it John! Would also love a bonus reaction to the table read which I see has been mentioned. Yay! Daisy and Sousa finally got their moment which they'll both remember! Here's a short bts video dedicated to them if you're interested https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_V9Acv8C6MY

Yes it is very amusing - Malick's squirmy maggot lack of control energy. It makes one wonder.... anger toward the illusion of something that is not actually attainable drives one mad. Control being the illusion here. Freedom is in letting go of control. Holding onto it rots you from the inside out.

The table read makes me ugly cry every time I watch it

Dude. When this episode aired I remember yelling to myself at home “OH MY GOD QUANTUM REALMMMMMM OH MY GOODD!!!”. After so many years and so many seasons of people saying this show has no tie ins to the MCU… to seeing the quantum realm structure from Endgame seen here in a miniature version was chef’s kiss. Kimball needs to have better bosses in both AOS and Mandalorian. This season’s watchalong is the first time I have re-watched this final season since it originally aired and my goodness, seeing all of the 084 made me ugly cry. I’m not ready for this to be over!

Hard to believe you almost at the end John. Facts: John Garrett being injured and defecting to the opposite side is a reference to season 1. He tells the story of being injured by a bomb in the abdomen and SHIELD refusing to help him, forcing him to join HYDRA for revenge. Here, Malick lets a bomb go off, injuring Garrett, so he defects to SHIELD to get revenge. Simmons fixing the beacon through muscle memory reflects how Fitz had to build a device in 2x8 despite his brain injury. Theory: Bill Cobbs’ character is credited as “Old Man”. Unlike everyone else, he brings his piece of the beacon in a bag and not a briefcase. I believe this is Nick Fury’s grandfather. In CA: Winter Soldier, Fury talked about his grandfather was an elevator operator who carried a bag to work everyday. It makes sense that Enoch would trust someone 50 years prior who was not an agent but was connected to SHIELD in case something went wrong.

Watching the finale on a tv is a great idea, very VFX heavy haha

The Ruptards

The scene of Simmons randomly saying things to Deke and Daisy are references to 6x6 when she was a kid and when her and Fitz got remarried quickly after he was updated on what happened in season 5. It also gave clues as to what she was supposed to do at the end of this episode. Singing key and the device they built is also connected to how they timetravel in season 5. That machine in located them by locking onto a frequency through spacetime. But the biggest Easter egg is the quantum tunnel used in Ant-Man and W and Endgame that Fitz came through. Since this aired together there was real hype and dread that this amazing show and characters woild soon be gone. But I always have hope especially with all the tv characters like Jarvis daredevil or blackbolt appearing that it is possible we will see some of these characters again.

We're almost there (again). ABC aired the final two episodes back-to-back, but you'll have to wait a week in between. I feel sorry. Some old S.H.I.E.L.D. tech making its return in this episode. The anti-teleporting device that Fitz designed to trap Gordon in one room was used on young Garrett. It seems Coulson redesigned it to keep it chained on a teleporter to keep him in the same spot. The shockwave staff thing that Mack used made its debut in the second-ever episode used by Ward. The teleporting device used to bring Fitz back was similar in design to the Quantum Realm device in Endgame. This time a young Agent Victoria Hand got to shoot Garrett instead of the other way around. Well, Ward shot her but he did it for Garrett. In this timeline, Ward can be a good agent like he was in the Framework. Agent Hand was his mentor in that world. I hope after the final episode that you'll also react to the final table read. Emotional. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_o7hIRH3jE A fun fan theory that doesn't happen (minor spoilers?). Fans thought the AOS would travel back to 2012 during the Avengers final battle. Enver Gjokaj appeared in one of the scenes so it would've been fun if it was a time-traveling Sousa in that scene instead. https://youtu.be/Ya3NETEnecw?t=85

Boys full. Length?

EZ

I missed Fitz throughout this season, but damn if it wasn't exhilarating when he appeared.
