I had a bit of an issue with this finale. The whole season was about going after Homelander, yet at the end it all changed to going after Soldier Boy. I felt that wasn't totally supported. It didn't have to be that way.
I think it would have been better to have Soldier Boy blast Homelander. Homelander lives, but loses his powers. Then next season is about what that means. See Homelander have to deal with that and how he goes about trying to get his powers back. The Boys still could have taken down Soldier Boy.

Utter BS Soldier Boy was the ONLY one who kept his word.

What, honestly did The Boys accomplish? They made Homelander stronger, put Ryan in his clutches, and helped put Victoria in a more powerful position. The look Ryan gave at the end has me worried. It might've been better for him to have Soldier Boy depower the kid.

The look Grace gave as they locked SB away tells me she might be the one to release him. She knows HL is worse, now he took Ryan from her, and Butcher wouldn't answer her call. I think she might believe SB is the lesser of two evils. Which he is.

And what was the point of keeping A-Train alive? He did nothing this episode. He's had his redemptive arc with apologizing to Huey and killing Blue Hawk. I cheered when Nate told him to GTFO. (I can't wait for you to see Christian's character in Supernatural. Such a different character than Nate.)

I absolutely loved this finale. I thought it tied up everyone’s mini-arc’s and also had great setups for next season. One of my favorite things about this show is the stakes. I’m constantly afraid anyone can die at any moment. I’m going to make a prediction though, I agree with you Greg, I think Butcher will die by the end of next season and I kinda hope it’s a sacrifice-type death for Ryan and that maybe Ryan will go against Homelander because of it, setting up a final season 5 storyline.

I enjoyed this episode a lot while watching but one that when I think on it left me a little frustrated. The performances in this show are so strong. While Anthony Starr is just insanely good as this character all across the board they're great and I don't ever feel that there's a weak performance. I love how one minute they have me really wanting a character to die and then later in the episode wishing the character I wanted to die had taken out the character I was annoyed with them for hurting earlier. Hoping the wait for season 4 isn't too long as this was a really strong season so can't wait to see what they deliver next.

You took that whole Hughie scene wrong. He's victim to his own imperfections, as are we all. His are inadequacy and feeling weak and insignificant. Very human arc. The scene where he helped her wasn't showing she had to be saved. She wasn't in mortal danger. But he did help her. He thought of something clever instead of killing himself trying to go in and be the hero. He let her be the hero. The exact opposite of what you took the scene as. Getting help from your significant other isn't a shameful act. You must've missed that, just like Hughie did.

I believe the woman that was with Ashley deleting the camera footage wasn't 2nd Ashley, but was one of the staff members that were left after The Deep gained control in that room and fired them all. I think it was the same woman that Noir went to for help trying to find Butcher in season 2

This was just an okay episode for me. I liked the season overall, but for me the finale lacked any surprises. I knew there was no way SB would accept Homelander. He is weak and pathetic character. There is no way SB would see that and not be disappointed in him. I also thought SB would go after Ryan, and create a conflict for Homelander and Butcher. And like Greg the minute Noir walked back in the tower I knew he was dead.
I also have a lot of problems with Hughie's whole arc this season. It felt forced in there to make a commentary which I don't feel like was well done. I mean in the end Annie needed Hughie to give her the "power" to be powerful. She couldn't do that without him...awesome message.
I did really like A-Train's scene with his brother. I was happy to finally see him face the reality of his actions.
I may be in the real minority but I kinda wish Homelander died or lost his powers. We have had 3 seasons of trying to kill this guy. And I'm not sure I want a 4th. But I'll be happy to be proven wrong.
