This is definitely one of my favorite finales of the shows. I'm happy they really focused on her life and family in Jersey, and left all the clandestine stuff behind in Pakistan. It's great symbolism. She learned about her past, but she is leaving behind the traumatic parts of it and moving on. Instead she comes home with the parts of her past which will serve her in the future, and adds them to her life in Jersey. Like her Nani says, she finds beauty in the pieces. I love that her suit is from Pakistan. And that her mom gave it to her in the toffee box from her mother. A visual of how the mothers cared for their daughters. I loved that we go from Muneeba criticizing Kamala for wanting to wear "skimpy outfits". Telling her she cannot go to the con unless she changes her clothes. To her walking in here, using that famous line that most women and girls have heard from someone in their life. "You're not going anywhere dressed like that" And then giving her a costume that is more form fitting than her Captain Marvel cosplay. Her mother no longer feeling like she has or needs ownership over her daughter's body. She let's go of some of her fear for her daughter to allow her to have adventures like her mom did for her. And of course, her mask is from Bruno representing her life in Jersey and her future. They are both dreamers who have big plans for their futures. I have seen some people complain about losing the Scott Pilgrim style. But like Greg, I liked that it dissipated across the episodes. It symbolized Kamala progressively not living in her daydreams anymore. Plus, I think it would be weird with the subjects discussed in the later episodes.
