THE GREEN MILE MOVIE (1999) WATCH ALONG!!

Comments

Decided to go back and watch this with you. Great reaction. It's hard for me to compare and pick a fav between Ryan, Shawshank and the Mile movies. I remember when the Green Mile short story series came out. I remember I was at SeaTac airport while in the Navy waiting on a flight to go home on leave and this was in 96' before ipads, cell phones etc. So I went into the book store at the airport and saw this series in there and it was his new release. So I bought the entire series although you could buy each book separately. I read the entire series on that 3 hour flight, I was so hooked into the story. So when the movie came out, I went and saw it in the theater a couple times. Such a great story by Stephen King. I was a fan of King's work since I was a kid, my first novel I ever read was Christine, which I read for a book report in 6th grade. This series is still my favorite King writings.

It is so refreshing to see a man who isn't afraid to cry during a movie and on camera. Thanks Greg for such a beautiful reaction.

I’m extremely late, obviously lol…I haven’t watched this in years. I was lucky enough to see it originally in the theater well over 20 years ago. And just now, I was blubbering right along with you…😅. So I hope you didn’t feel bad or embarrassed about that. If you don’t cry in this movie, you have no soul 😌.

This was my first time watching too, all of it atleast, cause I have a vague memory of seeing it years ago but had many missing pieces, and one thing I did know was that it is based on a Stephen King book, but when I started watching it now it kind of slipped my mind, and when the twist came, it all hit me right back "ofcourse we have creepy stuff flying out of a dudes mouth, it's a SK story!"😂 But yeah, it was a great film, I kind of felt the 3h unlike you Greg, but didn't disappoint me, nothing Tom Hanks does can! And I'm not a religious person myself, but I am a "keep your politics out of my movies" person, so that kind of stuff usually erks me, but between the direction and performances, it wasn't so on the nose to overwhelm the story. This was...fun ain't the right word for this, but I always enjoy diving into this classics with you Greg, especially ones I haven't seen myself. Can't wait to see what's next! I've heard John hasen't seen Fight Club.😏

This was the third time I've watched a full reaction to this movie in the past 6 months. Each and every time it invokes the same affect. 😭 Last time I actually combined three reactions to avoid doubling that number. There's only so much soul erosion one can handle. I'm not surprised that you both enjoyed this and picked it as your favourite of the three. I love them all for different reasons and don't think I could make myself pick a favourite. Have you seen Warrior? (2011) Now I'd of said you probably have! But I'd have also assumed you'd seen Gump, Redemption and Mile. Glad you hadn't, as they've all been great reaction vids.
