I deeply dislike Joy! She will always be THE antagonist of this movie for me. She is overbearing and controlling and looks down on all the other emotions, but at least sometimes understands they have some value, but when it comes to Sadness, she just straight up treats her like trash and acts not just like she is useless, but a burden!
Too much joy is way more toxic anger! In this movie, Riley is supposed to feel sad because she is forced to move away from her home and friends, which is why Sadness is "glitching" and toughing all the past emotions and making them sad. In reality, when you think of something in the past that is gone, it makes you a little sad for a while because you miss it.
And then then it comes to the end, when the console turns grey so none of the other emotions can have an effect on it, that is quite clearly depression (at least that is how it feels for me when depression settles in) and the first emotion to reach through that numb greyness is sorrow, and you really do need to cry through it for it to break (at least temporarily until it hits again).
Side note, I would LOVE to try brocolli on pizza, though I dont think it would top my favorite, which is artichokes on pizza!

I love that you've been watching so many feel good movies that leave us emotional after watching it, when you cry it effects me too. I remember when I first watched this movie I was a blubbery mess, lol. Thank you for reacting to it and sharing!

I loved what you said about being honest with yourself and what you are feeling, even if that means admitting you can't emotionally process something right that second. Something for me to keep in mind on my bad days.

I had to do the full watch along for this one. It's one of the only things that is guaranteed to bring me to tears...and we were in sync on that. The film is even used as an aid in therapy sessions for children and their parents to make complex issues more accessible.

So, TVs are a big thing for me. Gotta watch my content in the best quality I can get of course... I happened to peep an LG remote in your hand at the beginning of the watchalong, and I have to ask: Do you watch all your reactions on a C2, doubling it as a monitor? If so, I'm happy to know you're experiencing everything in the highest quality possible (in my humble opinion). SUper random, just something I noticed and wanted to ask about :)
