So hyped you guys finally made it to this episode! I became a Patron specifically so I could watch your reactions to MHA, and they have not disappointed. Normally I just lurk, but I couldn't resist leaving a comment today because there's just so much going on in this episode.
1. Those are not actual Japanese city names, but interestingly, many locations in MHA are named after Star Wars characters or places because the creator is a fan. "Mosu City" and "Kuraudo City" are references to Mos Eisley and Cloud City. There are a lot of others as well (Dagobah Beach, Kamino, etc.); it's fun to try and spot them.
2. Way back in season 3 when Bakugou and Deku had their big therapy fight, there was a moment where Deku acknowledged that he tends to subconsciously imitate Bakugou's speech and mannerisms when he gets fired up during a battle. In this episode we see that the reverse is also true, with Bakugou launching into a lengthy, detailed Deku-style analysis speech while watching Deku battle Shigaraki. Very cool detail.
3. I'm sure you caught this, but "my body just moved on its own" is a direct callback to Deku's line when he saved Bakugou in the very first episode. Full circle and all that.
4. You guys pointed out that both Deku and Bakugou's voices sound older now, but not sure if you also noticed that at the very end of the episode, when Bakugou's internal monologue kicks in, his voice sounds even OLDER, and his narration is coming from a future-person perspective -- "in that instant, I didn't think..." -- much like an omniscient narrator. Pretty sure this is the first time that any character has done that other than Deku.
Overall a phenomenal episode, and your reaction was worth the wait! Can't wait for the next one (also, congratulations on the wedding!).
