Thank you for reacting to this, Moana is one of my favourites and forsure has the coolest soundtrack and the prettiest visuals. It makes me want to go off on an adventure of my own, and leave my boring life! Always enjoy a rewatch!

2022-12-19 11:45:01 +0000 UTCThe thing that really differentiates Moana from most other Disney female characters is that nothing about her story revolves around her gender. She isn't being told she cant rule her people or marginalized as a leader by a man. She isn't being forced into marriage. She isn't having to prove she is strong or capable to anyone but herself. You could make this a story about a male character and nothing would have to change. And that is rare...not just for Disney. I appreciate stories about female issues, but not every female led story needs to be about that. And Moana proves that.
