How should the subjects I paint react to transformation?

I've long be drawn to the trope of the helpless victim being unexpectedly overtaken by a werewolf curse for the first time. But I also enjoy seeing strong characters willingly and eagerly transform too. What's your preference? What would you like to see me draw more of?

Should the person transforming be experiencing:

Whatever expressions you draw already, honestly. I love them!!

"Realism" is always a point. It's like when traditional animators used mirrors to recreate facial expressions: how would you feel if your bones were cracking and your flesh would twist... well, maybe you would be rendered unconscious because of the unbearable pain, but that is not very appealing, isnt' it?

I prefer pained and confused, but a mix is always good! Still, it is thrilling to watch them realize their humanity is slipping and watching them either resist or try to accept their fate.

I see them as painful for a time, but over a period of time I could understand becoming more desensitized to the pain. More like strain after a point.

Id say a little of both, the pain and confusion at first, and as the change progresses, it becomes fascination and pleasure :)

I say mix it up! Do one sometimes, the other sometimes, and occasionally both!
