Tori, Dale & Barbie
Throwing his rucksack onto the floor and taking off his headphones, Dale hears laughter and chattering coming from the family room.
Peaking around the corner, he sees his mom and younger sister Victoria standing in the middle of the room.
Victoria is wearing a big bright pink ball gown. She has her shoulder exposed with a sweeping neckline and the skirt of the dress puffs out around her.
Holding her arms up, Dale’s mother is adjusting the dress fit.
Dale looks on and holds back a snigger. He thinks Victoria looks like a try-hard princess in that dress!
“Oi,” Victoria shouts, causing her mom to jump in freight. “I see you back there Dale. Stop pulling that face!”
Stepping into the room with his hand up in surrender, Dale pulls a suspect face.
“Nice dress Tori,” he smirks. “Does princess peach know you’ve borrowed her dress?”
“Oh shut it, Dale!” Victoria hisses, wagging a finger. “What do you know!”
“Guys, be nice” their mother meekly says, trying to calm them.
“What do I know!?” Dale reacts. “I know that dress is hella ugly on you Tori. Do you think you’re in pride and prejudice or something?”
“DALE,” His mother scolds, standing between them. “Don’t start you too. You know what happened last time!”
“Yeah Dale,” Tori gloats, flicking her hair back with confidence. “I will punish you again.”
“Mom,” Dale whines, pointing at Victoria. “She promised she wouldn’t use her powers on me anymore. Tell her to stop threatening me.”
Their mom throws them both a quick and frustrated frown.
“I wish I could swap your bodies,” she comments, shaking her head. “You to both need to walk in each other's shoes for a while.”
“It’s not me,” Victoria innocently pleas. “He’s being the jerk!”
Dale stares daggers at Victoira.
“I’m being the Jerk!” he fires back. “You transformed me into a four-year-old girl last week so you could show me off to your friends! I’m not the jerk… you are!”
“You knew what you had to do to transform back,” Victoria smirks then giggles. “You took so long to trigger the transformation back. All you had to do was call me mommy…. and you refused!
“That wasn’t nice,” Their mom scolds Victoria then turns to Dale. “Don’t aggravate her!” she continues, flicking Dale lightly on the shoulder with the back of her hand.
“You deserved it,” Victoria answers, folding her arms and looking away.
“I Did not! You ugly dress-wearing freak!” Dale gripes, giving her the finger to flip her off.
“That’s it!” Victoria screams, waving her hand in a circle. “See how you like it!”
As Victoria moves, sparks of bright purple energy crackle around her wrists as she spins her hand elegantly. After a few seconds, she’s gathered enough magic.
Dale knows what's coming back is powerless to stop it. Running out of the room wouldn’t be enough!
“Stop Victoria!” their mom shouts, as the magic shoots from her fingertips and hits Dale with force.
Feeling the magic envelope his body, his body begins to lift slightly from the floor and glow a bright brilliant white.
Unable to fight, dales body is spread out into a star shape.
“It’s his fault!” Victoria moans, getting a dirty look from her mom.
Before their very eyes, Dale’s body transforms and morphs.
His hair grows thick and long. It cascades down his back and face. His entire body shrinks in height and size. His legs elongate and his torso shortens.
Then bursts out his curves. Two mounds on his chest, a narrowing waist, and an extra thick backside.
As the light fades and Dale is gently dropped to the floor, his transformation is soon apparent to them both watching on.
His clothes no longer fit him and he stands a foot shorter. His face is slim and narrow. His hands and feet are small and dainty.
“TORI,” Dale screams, holding out his arms, unable to see his small hands hidden in his long sleeves.
Victoria can only look on and giggle. She’d planned for him to be a redhead of the same age and she’d got just that.
“It’s not funny young lady,” their mom insists, moving over to dale and brushing his long wild hair from his eyes. “Please tell us what the trigger is for him to turn back!”
“No,” Victoria answers, turning her face away. “He needs to learn some humility. He hurt my feelings about my dress. Now he needs to understand why I’m upset by his nasty comments.”
“So….,” their mom ponders, holding Dale still to stop him from tripping over his oversized pants. “Are you saying he has to get a dress and go to prom….?”
Giving them both a wide, but sinister grin, Victoria chuckles. “Maybe……..”
“T-Tori,” Dale says, recoiling at the feminine voice coming from his mouth. “I’m s-sorry. P-please change me back.”
“No,” Victoria says again, shaking her head. “I told you, you have a lesson to learn.”
“Bitch!” Dale hisses, stamping his feet. “I’m ain’t going to no prom!”
“Dale,” their mom complains at his curse word. “Don’t call your sister that!”
“Well, she is,” he huffs, flicking his long hair back. “I only made a joke and now she’s forcing me into womanhood. I know what boys want with girls on their prom night! She thinks I’m going to wear a dress like that and go with a boy…… I’m not! No way no how!”
“You are……Tarryn,” Victoria gloats.
“Mom!” Dale groans. “She called me Tarryn again!”
“Argh!” their mom complains, throwing her hands up in exhaustion. “I give up with you too!”
“You can’t let her just do this to me!?” Dale gripes, presenting his transformed body. “Look at me. I’m a girl, mom. If you don’t punish her, what's saying she won’t transform you!”
“Stop moaning…. Tarryn,” Victoria gloats again.
“Btich,” Dale hisses back.
“Look,” Victoria growls, folding her arms tight. “Prom is this weekend. Take the day off tomorrow and go with mom and she will help you find a dress. Come to prom as Tarryn and learn your lesson!”
“I told you,” Dale instantly answers, rolling up his ill-fitting sleeves to expose his dainty fists. “I’m not doing that. No way am I looking like you and having boys lust for me.”
“Fine,” Victoria says, lifting her hand like before, casting another spell. “I think you need time to cool off Tarryn. Once you’ve done that, you will see sense!”
“Victoria…no!” their mom complains, watching Victoria swish her hand around in a similar motion from before.
Not being able to stop her, Dale’s body is once more enveloped in bright brilliant light.
“Stop her….,” he cries out, before going silent.”
Lifting his smaller feminine frame from the floor, he goes stiff as a plank of wood. His legs and arms go completely straight and his whole body starts to shrink dramatically.
As his body shrinks and shrinks, their mom looks on and gasps.
“What have you done to him?” she asks, watching her son shrink to the size of a barbie doll.
As Dale’s skin becomes hard like plastic, his hair becomes synthetic and blonde. His feet become comically small and his curves remain larger than life.
“Mom,” Victoria says calmly, stepping forward to grab Dale’s new Barbie body from the air. “It’s only for a few hours. Once he’s cooled off I will change him back.”
“He’s a barbie doll Victoria!” their mom says, terrified. “Is it even still him!?”
“Yeah….,” Victoria flippantly replies, shaking dale from side to side and twiddling his long fake hair. “He will be able to hear and see what's going on, but unable to talk or move.
“Just put him somewhere safe!” their mom commands, looking worried. “Can you also put some clothes on him? I hate that he’s a barbie doll and his little plastic body is out on the show!”
Victoria turns Dale in her hands and looks at his plastic figure.
“Yeah, ok,” she says, with a big grin. “I’ve still got some of my barbie dresses upstairs. I will put him in one of Barbie's little black dresses and leave him facing the mirror. That way he can learn to love wearing a dress and his feminine form.”
“Don’t mess with him anymore, ……ok” their mom sighs. “Poor boy.”
“He started it…..and I finished it,” Victoria laughs. “If he doesn’t want to be a Barbie doll, he shouldn’t have messed with me!”
“Just go dress him!” their mom huffs. “Your dress fitting will have to wait. I’m going to make his favorite dinner. Maybe that will help with his bad mood when he transforms back.”
Walking away, their mom looks back and gives Victoria a worried look.
“Maybe you can magic me some extra cash too!” she shouts back. “I’m having to buy two prom gowns now, your father ain’t going to be pleased!”
“Sure,” Victoria smiles.
Flicking back her hair, Victoria then directly looks into Dale's plastic eyes.
“Come on Barbie….,” she sings. “….Let's go Party!”
