Did this little style experiment as a 10k thank you on Twitter, and I figured y’all deserved to enjoy it here without the “thank you” text overlay!

This was a really fun little piece to mess around with my process. I fought the urge to do a designated lineart layer or clean things up much at all (which was hard for me, lol) and I’m pretty damn happy with the end result! The thicker outlines and better edge control in some areas made up for the lack of line definition in others, and it all balanced out in a way that still pleases my picky picky brain 😆

All in all this might seem like a pretty understated experiment, but I was reaaaallly overdue for some process innovation re: sketching. I’ve been wanting to do more casual and loose drawings for the sake of learning and exploring between bigger works, but I’ve always found it hard to work quickly and not polish things while still being satisfied with the outcome. This approach definitely helps in that department. Excited to make more sketches like this here and there🩷
