Personally, I think they should shake it up a little. Shapeshifters are all bears, horses, wolves, foxes... Sexy things, beasts. What about a salmon shapeshifter? Think of the sensual midnight swims! And the unerring fear of herons...

mostly becasue wolves have been the fun ones to make shapeshifters though if you play d& d almost all animals are shapeshifters.
