Hey there!
Thank you for being a patron and supporting me on this journey! I had mentioned in a previous post my intent to release this version of the game to patrons only, and while I know that I have little control over where this version of the game goes, I'd like to at least give some context behind this version of the game while I have a captive (and hopefully interested) audience.
This version of the game includes a rape scene. I won't "spoil" it by detailing where it is in this post, but I can tell you that in-game you will get some pretty heavy foreshadowing and warnings from other players before you have the option to encounter the scene on Friday night.
Now, this scene was the first of it's kind I'd ever written. It wasn't something I had planned on putting in the game when I had my outline, but as I actually started to write and code things, it made sense at the time for this to be a possible outcome for the main character.
This isn't an isolated occurrence, there are a whole host of times throughout this game that I didn't stick to my own script and decided to add or delete things because they just make more sense in context. Typically, in those situations, I'm able to rework my plot outlines so that the characters involved do things that make sense, and the world that I've created doesn't suddenly shatter, or become something people roll their eyes at (hopefully).
In the case of this scene though, I was torn. I hadn't originally wanted any scenes like this in my game because it wasn't something I felt comfortable writing about in detail. But, after going out on a limb and trying it out I was able to push my boundaries and explore something that is very dark, and very removed from my usual sexual fantasies and writing.
I understand that this kind of scenario can be really exciting or gratifying for some folks, and I tried to explore the "why" behind that a bit. I came away from the experience understanding a little bit more, and writing something I felt was alright for a first shot.
But with a scene like this, in a game like mine, where I have such a big emphasis on consequences and characters that feel real, I couldn't just "plop" a rape scene in my game without seriously thinking of the consequences not only for the plot, and the players, but also the characters themselves.
People don't typically bounce back from things as life-changing as sexual assault. Its not a light or fuzzy topic, or a new milestone that is simply collected before moving on with your life. It changes people (but doesn't define them). Its complex and messy and nuanced and after a lot of thinking, I realized that something as heavy as this needed to be handled with care. And while it was an exercise in writing about different things, I decided it wouldn't be appropriate in this game.
It needs its own space, and I just don't have enough in the current story I am trying to tell.
That's all to say: it was interesting, and I may more carefully incorporate it in future games, but not this one.
So with that all being said, if you're interested in downloading College Craze with that scene, you can do so here:

Please Note: All other routes and story arcs are the same as the original release, but for future releases, do not expect any follow up to this deleted scene. I don't know how future versions will play with a savefile with this scene, but I encourage you to save it seperately from any other playthroughs you do, just in case :)
