Hey y’all!
Back with another devlog update and THERE'S SO MUCH CONTENT TO GET THROUGHHHH!!
First, let’s talk Editing and Posing. As of this morning I’ve edited and added the posing/expressions for about 40% of the script. It's hard to measure because adding code for posing lengthens the entire file. So saying I hit line 3600 out of 8212 doesn’t mean anything, because I’ll likely be adding another 500-1000 lines to the entire file by the end of day. Regardless, I’m trucking along and reading the entire script from the beginning to catch any edits, and adding character expressions in line by line. It's a lot of work, but I gotta do it lol.
Finished the last of the CGs a few days ago. Thanks to everyone who tuned in to watch. Re-reading the script, I realize there are maybe 1 or 2 more CGs that I could put in to make things feel a little less static. I’m hoping to bang those out after editing, or fingers crossed, have those be some soft-launch CGs for a new artist! I’ve been chatting with a lot of talented people from Twitter, and really hope I can find a good match! Also, this is super minor, but I’ll have to do new expressions for 2 new v4 characters. This is never nearly as time consuming, thankfully.
GUI Update: the dev finished implementing it!! Once I’m done editing the script and posing, I’ll have to go back and merge this newest file with the one he’d been working on. There are new ways to implement the CGs, now that there's a gallery, so hopefully it won't take me too long to do. If it proves to be a hassle, I may just have the dev pop in the images and such when I’m all ready. We’ll see...
Now it’s time to talk about beta testing. I wanna open up testing to those interested, but because there are a lot of new faces around here, I’ve decided to create an application. This hasn’t been an issue in the past, but I don’t want to run the risk of having testers only interested in playing the game before everyone else.
I need people who are going to be vigilant in finding typos, grammatical mistakes or narrative inconsistencies, to read for sensitivity and give feedback around characterization. I also would like to have people who are active in the community and genuinely care about the game. This round of testing will be a heavier lift than before as well, because two new components have been added: the GUI and the voice acting, so I really need these things stress-tested. If you think you’re a good fit, fill out the form here.
Also, sorry for being MIA in the discord lately. I’ve been heads-down on all of this and really trying to get things out by the end of the month. (But this ain’t an official release date, and I won't announce one until I have the game in the testers hands!) Like Muni Long’s song, getting through this is gonna take me hours and hours, but it’ll be well worth it in the end!
xoxo,
