The desk picture shows the handcrafted arrows we used for the shoot… it’s basically a regular arrow with some wooden hearts that I got from a craft shop than painted red. It did need some photoshop after to make it really pretty, but it worked as a starting point.
The crossbow is from Kerecsen Íjászbolt and it was super scary tbh. When you cocked it the only way to release was to shoot… so we had to shoot the arrow into a foam target a couple of times and when you experience it the first time its quite shocking… you can feel that it is very much a powerful weapon that can go through you and the guy behind you easily.
For the shots when we had to aim it at a model we put the arrow incorrectly in the crossbow on purpose so even if it accidentally goes off, it wouldn’t fire it.
The last picture shows how we kept the arrows in place… it was a bit awkward, but it was quite easy to remove the assistant from the photos. Many of the pictures are composites.
