Road to Rewrite the Stars 4

Thanks to the support all of you have given me, I've been able to take my entire summer break and draw all 26 pages of the third comic. It would have never been able to happen without you guys.

Now, the challenge ahead is to get the fourth comic ready. However, it's not as easy as just sitting down and drawing. Just so you know, these are the four stages of development, in the order that I usually follow:

Those are the four steps I need to get done before I can start drawing the comic. The main problem is that I'm also back in classes. For those of you that don't know, I'm an architecture student, and I'm in my —hopefully— previous to last year of studies. And architecture is pretty brutal in terms of how much time it consumes, which is why, so far, I've done all three volumes of the comic whenever I'm on summer vacation, which is once a year every December.

HOWEVER, I wanna make things different this time. My plan is to draw the entire fourth volume BEFORE my next summer break. That's where Patreon comes in, so I can use whatever free time I have left to work on the comic rather than commissions to pay for my studies. So far, the $280~ I'm making is helping me immensely. The ideal goal would be to reach $500, but that's very unlikely. I'm pretty sure I'm quite close to the "Lynncoln comic enjoyers" population cap.

I've been thinking about what to do to a) make the comic happen faster, b) give you guys better reasons to stay, and c) expand the audience a bit. These are my ideas that will benefit everyone in the $5 tier and above:

1) Doing weekly or bi-weekly, Patreon exclusive updates on each stage of development (lineup, plot, character models, page outline). Naturally, I would avoid spoilers in the "plot" stage, because I don't want anyone to get spoiled. I want you guys to see it as it's happening.

2) During the lineup stage, Patreon exclusive polls to determine which sister I'm doing every week, and also to pick between different stylistic choices every time I can't decide between multiple designs. It happens a lot, so not only do you get to decide the order I design them, you might get to pick the final look! The designs would be Patreon exclusive until the entire lineup is finished.

3) Monthly character polls. I did it one time with Andrea Davenport as the winner, and I loved doing it. People also seemed to like it, so I might use this as an opportunity to get to draw characters you like that I don't often get the opportunity to draw. Characters from The Ghost and Molly McGee, The Owl House, Amphibia, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, and things like that.

4) Once the development stages are over, patrons will decide on the release schedule. Since this won't be during my summer break, I'm not gonna be able to give myself the time to draw and post them on a regular schedule. Do I wait until I have a big enough backlog of finished pictures to start releasing them weekly on a consistent basis (having half the comic ready before releasing them)? Do I post every page as soon as it's ready, even if one page takes a week and the next one takes three? I always prefer a consistent schedule, but maybe you guys don't mind the wait. Maybe you want weekly updates, whether in the form of a finished page or sharing advances, sketches, or sneak peeks.

And those are the ideas I currently have, but I would love to hear from you guys and what ideas you can come up with. I don't wanna promise anything too crazy, but maybe you can come up with a great idea that wouldn't have occurred to me.

At any rate, that's all I have to say for now. I'm probably going to post April's Character Poll on Monday, after Easter.

Happy Easter, everyone! And thank you for your support!

Comments

Regarding the previous question, I'm not familiar with any comic involving the twins on Patreron. And feel free to DM me if you wanna discuss a project.

Would you create also lanacoln comics if I pay you?

Айхан Гасанов

Do you know any lolacoln or lanacoln comics in patron?

Айхан Гасанов

I'm not sure. My idea is to finish chapters 4 and 5 before March 2024. After that, it depends a lot on my college schedule.

UnderratedHero

How long approximately it will take to finish all 7 chapters

Айхан Гасанов

I'm planning for AT LEAST going up to Part 7.

UnderratedHero

Is the part 4 last one?

Айхан Гасанов

I am very excited about your upcoming projects and I don't mind having to wait a long time for them. I admire your work. Take your time. 😁

Spendem

I don't mind waiting as l9ng as we receive updates on a regular basis, even if it's just to say you're not able to provide an update to the comic for awhile

A little bit of democracy now eh? 🤣🤣 But in all seriousness this does sound like a pretty good plan, but at the end of the day it's whatever suits you the best. The comic has been amazing thus far but your studies are important too, so whichever method helps you focus on your degree and draw the comic is what I'll support!
