I think it's so funny that you thought Doctor Sharon was being rude. She actually said nothing rude. She is very professional and straight-laced. Very British. Confident and blunt, but you have to be in a male-dominated field as a woman of color. I immediately got her 100% after her very first scene. It actually gave me whiplash to hear you call her a bitch lol.

Hi Natalie. So, there is a moment at the bar when Ted and Coach Beard go back and forth. They say " Can I get real a second" "Put down your beer and tell your buddy how you feel a second" ..... Re: Sharon's demeanor. (No spoilers.) One thing is she's just a fairly professional and private person, who doesn't respond to the overt Midwestern friendliness. And I think she is a little bit rude here, or at least she's definitely not making an effort to be liked. But one thing to consider is she's a black woman walking into a male-dominated macho sport, where most coaches probably don't trust her at all or want her help. She has to work hard to prove herself. She has to insist on respect. ("Doctor.") And she takes her job seriously, and she walks into the room where these guys are just goofing off. Rewatching this.. She's polite. She shows interest in their game. She's smiling throughout Ted's dance. She specifically says she believes Ted is good at his job. She wants to make sure Higgins is really okay with giving up his office. She just doesn't join in their playing around. I think the rudest thing she does is not return Ted's wave. But because Ted is uncomfortable with her, we as the audience are uncomfortable with her. I think if Ted was completely unbothered by her standoffishness (which he usually is! he's usually fine with that!), then she wouldn't seem as bad. And completely unrelated, I love the nailpolish moment. I love season 2, but you can already tell the vibe is slightly different. I look forward to seeing your reactions!
