This is probably too late but... I'll throw out there that Chernobyl and Arcane are both just a single season / 6 or so hours each. Avatar is a much bigger time commitment with 60+ episodes (30 hours or so)

I'd highly recommend Arcane. The animation and storytelling are amazing and tbh, not knowing the game or which characters are champions makes the show better. Try the first 3 episodes and I swear you'll be invested.

I've been trying to figure out a way to solve your long series problem. Cause if you do 2 episodes a week, some of these series will take you a year and will basically theme your channel for that time. However, if you change your weekly format to 4 daily episodes of 4 different shows (3 long series and 1 short series) You can knock out Avatar, Agents of ShielD and Battlestar in under two years doing one episode each a week and then doing one episode a week of Arcane, Chynobyl, Westworld or which ever short series in the 4th slot leaving you 1 day a week for feature films. Otherwise you won't get to some really good long series for years.

I'm so bummed for Battlestar Galactica. ༼☯﹏☯༽ As other's have mentioned, arguably the best sci-fi series of all time. Nat, I think you would be more emotionally invested than the other shows on this list, and the character arcs are insane. Arcane just really nailed it, 10/10. It does what it aims to do extremely well, and on all fronts, cinematography, story, characterization, voice acting, animation, soundtrack etc. etc. It's not the most profound or original show of all time, but it doesn't have to be, and what it does, it does perfectly. I seriously can't find a single thing I don't like about it, it's absolutely flawless.

Not gonna lie, the way people are talking up Arcane I think I must check it out now. I'm cheering for Chernobyl though, (not literally) because that shiz is HISTORICAL, slightly inaccurate, but definitely accurate in the scariest ways. And it's so gd well executed. It will wreck you however, in five episodes or less.

Question for the ATLA folks. I have never seen it, but I did a bit of research because of this poll. It does look interesting but, honestly, the Legend of Korra looked like something I'd be more interested in. I know that at least one person here expressed dislike for it, but from the synopsis it sounded like something Nat would like, as a followup.

How the hell has Arcane got so few votes? It is by far the best show on the list. I had not intention of seeing Arcane because it was animated series based on a videogame, which isn't my thing, but watched it and I blown away by how great it was. It is the greatest animated TV show or film I have ever seen and is now the number 1 watched show in the world. The other shows on the poll are trash in comparison. Forget the other shows watch Arcane it is the best on the list.

Man this is the single one time I hope for an executive decision override or perhaps schedule shuffle because Arcane is both current and ground-breaking. I think if you're deciding what to what for yourself, then length isn't an issue. In a situation like this, however, you're deciding as a group what to watch. You are always going to have some percentage - possibly a high percentage - of people who are not interested in what was chosen. If it's a short series or a movie it's not really an issue. If it's a very long run, such as Game of Thrones or Avatar, then you are asking others give up something for months at a time

I am absolutely in the Avatar camp, and can see people have suggested multiple episodes per video, considering it's length. I don't think something being long should ever be a turn off. I'd also note there is a Netflix adaptation somewhere in the works, so opens up potential for some future 'part-of-the-conversation' content, provided you enjoy it of course.

I love agents of shield but there is 7 seasons and "hour" long episode so if you do commit to it, it may take awhile. Avatar is 3 seasons and short episodes so it really depends on how often your release schedule would be and commitment to the show.

You will be missing out on one of the greatest animated shows ever made. Please consider at least adding Arcane to a future poll.

Arcane needs more attention. I can tell people here haven't seen it. There is a good reason it has near perfect review scores online.

But you're forgetting that Avatar is also a great show haha. Also, since the episodes are shorter, maybe Nat can double up on releases? So it'd only be thirty episodes.

So far it hasn't been horribly bad, or I've missed the comments. I've only seen a few 'Show x is horrible, you guys are nuts' comments. I'm not a fan of the show in the lead at the moment, but I'm in the minority and my opinion is just that: a subjective opinion. Hopefully most people get that.

I'm curious why you say Fukushima was worse. It wasn't in terms of radiation released or increase in the risk of cancers, certainly. Was it the 'watching ameltdown in slow motion' aspect of the Fukushima incident? Or perhaps you or someone you know lives near there. THAT would make it worse.

Please do Chernobyl. First of all, it is the best, second of all, it is really short compared to something like the Last Airbender. Also, Westworld kind of goes to shit after season one. The rest are still decent, but not on the same level.

Arcane has some beautiful visuals and a fantastic story and was immodestly renewed for season 2, WestWorld is an experience! cant say much more without spoiling haha, Agents of shield is a MUST for the Marvel side, those are my votes

I went with Chernobyl because it's pretty short (5 episodes). The only other two I've watched are BSG and WW. IMO, WW went off the rails badly after season 1. I stopped watching it after a few episodes in season 2. BSG eventually went off the rails but it was a great ride for a while I'm not sure how you'd feel about all the sex in either of those shows though.

I haven't seen any of these shows so I personally don't have much interest in any of them but I might try to watch along with you. As someone else suggested, I highly recommend Doctor Who, specifically starting with the 2005 revival, eventually. It's still a fairly big commitment but so so worth it.

Shame Arcane isn't getting the recognition it deserves. In my opinion it's one of the best if not the best show I have ever seen and it's pretty short so you'll get through it quickly.

All shows are great in their department. But it is a holiday season coming up and we could use some a little more light-hearted entertainment with deep character developement and a compelling storyline. So Avatar would be a nice kick-off. But all the other shows are good entertainment, too.

Arcane is such a masterpiece. It’s is actually the first show since Game of Thrones that actually gave me goosebumps and I remember even screaming at some points. It only has 9 episodes and is very easy to watch. Definitely recommend for watching.

Arcane just passed the Mandalorian and StrangerThings to take the title of number one streaming show in the United States. It has also just become the most watched series on Netflix worldwide. Hi Natalie, since anime is an option, may I suggest Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (2009)? It is created by Hiromu Arakawa. I am sure you will love her work! It is a COMPLETED SERIES with only 64 episodes. You don't have to wait for more seasons and can just be done with it in a couple months. Please consider watching it! Thank you!

I do get peoples opinion that Avatar might be too long. With 61 episodes at 2 episodes per week that's gonna be over 30 weeks of the same show. I think doing multiple episodes per upload even on Patreon would be better so maybe like 2 episodes every time as they're only 20 minutes each for a total of 4 per week. This would cut the duration down to roughly 15 weeks which fits perfectly with What if and Hawkeye as those shows together lasts 15 weeks as well.

While AoS gets my vote because you really should have started this show right after the Avengers film because that's where it starts in the MCU timeline, I would also LOVE to watch Battlestar Galactica again. There is a reason it got best drama on TV. It's only cosmetically a sci-fi series. Unfortunately both these excellent shows seem less popular to your mainstream audience and so it may be years before we see these shows on your channel, if ever. Oh yeah, and if it ends up being Westworld, just get a T-shirt that reads "I'm so confused" until about the 9th episode.

As much as I wouldn't mind seeing it, Buffy is a major time commitment. 144 episodes at two episodes a week comes to around a year and a half of viewing, Then, of course, Natalie may feel forced to include Angel either at the end or interleaved with Buffy from the time the two series diverged, and you're adding another year. There is another reactor called "Alley Box" who has been reacting to Buffy and Angel since April 2020. She is through Seaason 4 of Buffy and most of Season 1 of Angel in that time, and still has years to go. I think Natalie wants to see these, but has so much else that people want to see.

Personally, I'd vote for Agent Carter ahead of Agents of SHIELD. Agent Carter is shorter (only two seasons because it got canceled) and I think generally maintains a higher quality throughout. I'd also vote for some shows not on the list, like Farscape or Babylon 5. Or for something more recent that I don't know if Nat has seen like Umbrella Academy or ... I can't recall if she's said she's seen Stranger Things before, but I'm always down to rewatch Stranger Things with a new reactor.

Here's my thoughts: Battlestar Galactica - Probably one of the greatest Sci-fi series to ever air on basic cable. Sole reason the Sy-Fy channel is still around. Must see tv for that time period. Kinda a large time commitment as there are 77 episodes so at 2/week, you are committing almost 10 months to watching the series. If watched at a faster pace, you'll take as long as it took to finish Game of Thrones which had 73 episodes. Agents of Shield - good series. Huge time commitment as there are about 140 episodes so you are looking at 16 months of tv watching. Chernobyl - Great series, only 5 episodes. Can binge watch this over a weekend. Westworld - Amazing 1st season, keeps you guessing as to what is really going on. Very good season 2. 3rd season lost me as a fan and I won't be watching future seasons. Can't comment on the other 2 shows as I haven't seen them.

I disagree. Just my opinion, but I thought the '78 original and the '80 remake were both "ok", nothing to write home about. The 2004 reboot stands alone as a masterpiece of cinema, this is the only version I would recommend ... HIGHLY recommend.

Avatar is a lot of light hearted fun. I think it’s the one that made the largest/longest lasting cultural impact. It’s 3 episodes per hour, so it’s only 20 hours. You can do 6 or 12 YT episodes. AoS is 136 40-minute episodes, so 90 hours. I don’t think it warrants that much bandwidth.
