2022-02-03 07:25:46 +0000 UTCNat a couple of things. this movie is rated R unlike previous xmen movies which i believe you realised, hence all the extra gore etc..., and also to me this is essentially an alternate universe hence colossus being different. But Even if it was in the same universe as the other x-men movies days of future past changed the timeline so anything in Origins: wolverine is different by time deadpool showed up. But Deadpool has cosmic awareness, so to speak, of alternate realities hence a lot of the 4th wall breaking.

Or that when recommending what to watch first, they didn't say "See X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and then the X-Men movies, and then mostly forget about them because they aren't super relevant to this movie other than references." Anyway, I look forward to your watch of both Deadpool 2 and Free Guy. Incidentally, there is a PG-13 version of Deadpool 2 that is an amusing adaptation that recreates part of The Princess Bride, but I would watch that AFTER you see the regular version of Deadpool 2.

Also, not sure if you had already watched it, but Deadpool has already done a minor crossover with MCU doing a reaction video with Korg (from Thor Ragnarok) to promote Free Guy. Got so many of us nerds excited!

While there were a couple interesting and potentially important episodes, it was just meh & mostly has no effect on the live-action MCU. "Hawkeye," on the other hand, is obviously directly tied to the MCU. It would have fit perfectly after watching "Black Widow." It's a fun series with a very buddy cop feel to it. You also get the dynamic between older Clint and newbie Kate Bishop. Their chemistry and banter is so great. It's a heartwarming, emotional and fun holiday series you needed. It's a breath of fresh air and has a couple fantastic surprises, including an appearance by one of the best new characters in the entire MCU. There's just so much to love with that series.

These timelines are so confusing!" one of the funnier fourth wall breaks you missed, talking about something else. Yeah, there are some touching moments in this but they're always rounded out by Deadpool's vicious humor. Awesome movie to kick the year off with! <3

This is the same deadpool who fought wolverine, they are the same person, but due to Days of future past, the X Men Origins one's timeline got rewritten so that movie never happened, so he never got those laser eyes and stuff, and instead, the Deadpool Movie happened.

I think some of the music choices, especially in the opening scene, were much weaker than the original. The additional content didn't add much to the film outside of a few scenes. Just my opinion, of course.

Gina Carano's character is Angeldust btw, a completely different character to Archangel from X-Men 3 (who I figure you wondered if she was). Also, Collosus in this is much more comics accurate with how big he is, being always metal, and being Russian. Wasn't familiar with Negasonic Teenage Coolest Name Ever ebfore this movie though, but Sinead O'Connor does a great job still. Also can't wait for Deadpool 2 now. But, there's a few others before that, including the Excellent Logan (Have tissues handy for that one).

2022-01-01 04:42:25 +0000 UTCOh yeah and as I understand the fourth wall breaking actually goes back to the comics, one of the side effects of the procedure that gave him his healing abilities also made him a little schizoid, and Deadpool was like how the Punisher started, not exactly a villain but not a hero either. I could be wrong but that's what a friend who knows more about comics than I do told me. Also, sorry for the back pain, believe me I sympathize, I also had the back of a 40 year old in my twenties (injuries, and being in the Army didn't help lol), but now I'm actually 40ish and it hasn't exactly improved with age, plus my job is still somewhat physical. Lots of stretching and just trying to stay in decent shape (also some pain relief of the cannabinoid variety) is the best I can do to hold it at bay, back spasms are to typical back pain as migraines are to typical headaches. Can't wait for the sequel react, I think I like Deadpool 2 even more. And Happy New Year!!

Your body usually tries to move away from the pain. But that doesn't apply if it's bone issues, rather than muscle issues.

Yeah, Deadpool breaking the 4th wall is pretty common in the comics, IIRC other comic characters would tend to regard Wade as mentally unstable because he "seems to think he's a comic book character" and other reasons. The Angel in this movie is Angel Dust, a completely different character than the Angel in The Last Stand. Yeah, the continuity for this movie series is inconsistent to put it very lightly (thus the jokes referencing this sprinkled throughout the movie). Also, the reason Deadpool keeps forgetting his ammo bag is because of the budget, which was really low for a blockbuster film. Anyways, enjoy your break and have a golden new year, Nat!

There are 3 versions of Deadpool 2. There's the standard release one, and then there's the "Super Duper Cut" which is the better version and everyone will tell you to react to that one, however, it's not streaming anywhere free and would make it harder for patrons to follow along without having to buy it. It's only available if you purchase it. The other version "Once Upon a Deadpool" is a "family friendly" version. It's cute and has a lot of different content, but def one you watch after watching the regular version of the movie.

There WAS supposed to be a giant gun-filled action scene, but they simply couldn't afford it.

Deadpool just uses so much of it as fodder for jokes. And you may have figured it out by now, but Deadpool is compleeeeetely separate from what you saw in X-Men : Origins Wolverine. Just pretend that Ryan Reynolds and that Deadpool never happened. This movie is far more true to the comics (who does indeed break the 4th wall often... it's part of the insanity his mutation gave him) than XM:O ever was. It's why Ryan Reynolds pushed hard to get this character done properly (and even leaked some test footage so that audiences would demand it).

That's 2 movies off your reaction bucket list - Die Hard and Deadpool 😄 I saw the trailer for this movie when it came out and decided it wasn't for me, and after watching it with you today, yeah it's definitely not for me, but I enjoyed watching your reaction and I'm glad you had a lot of fun watching it Nat. Thanks a million for all your awesome work this year Nat. We've covered a lot of ground and so many different types of movie and shows. It's been amazing.
